Protect yourself from loan fraud.

Fraudsters sometimes pretend to be lenders or loan platforms. Here is how to spot them and what to do.

If someone asks for this, it isn’t us.

  • Ask for your OTP, PIN, CVV or passwords
  • Ask for an upfront fee to approve or release a loan
  • Ask you to install screen-sharing or remote-access apps
  • Promise guaranteed approval regardless of your credit
  • Contact you from personal email addresses
  • Ask you to pay into a personal bank account or UPI ID

If you’ve been targeted

Act quickly.

You can also report unauthorised lenders or apps to the RBI on its Sachet portal, sachet.rbi.org.in.

  1. Stop and don’t share more

    End the call or chat. Do not share OTPs or make any payment.

  2. Call 1930

    Report financial fraud on the National Cyber Crime Helpline, or online at cybercrime.gov.in.

  3. Tell your bank

    Ask your bank to block your card, UPI or account if money was taken.
